What it does
Courts are sanctioning lawyers over briefs containing citations that do not exist, most of them AI-hallucinated. The embarrassing part is how preventable it is: checking that a citation resolves to a real case is mechanical work.
This checker extracts every citation from the text you paste, using the same open-source citation parser the Free Law Project built for CourtListener, then verifies each one against the CourtListener database of published opinions and links you to the case it found.
